Band Information ![]() 78 RPM, your local Big Band /Party Band, originated from the Happy Wanderers, which was an Oktoberfest band, sponsored by the Jackson Hose Fire Company in 1973. The band members wanted to play a diverse range of music to expand their various talents so they included Big Band music in their repertoire. As the band progressed through the years, the members realized that as society changed, people wanted not only the classic big band tunes, but they also wanted the contemporary music as well. A small sampling of some tunes the band has performed live are: In The Mood, Frenesi, Jump, Jive & Wail, Sweet Home, Chicago, Beyond The Sea, Moondance, Polka Medley, Stardust, All The Way, When A Man Loves A Woman, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Brown-Eyed Girl, I Remember You, Fly Me To The Moon, Mustang Sally, Jersey Bounce, Smooth, and Let's Twist Again. Current band members in order of joining from 1973 to 2006 are Jim Tobin, Tom Rounsville (Musical Director), Jim Bondi, John Kantrowski, Rich Bondi, Jim Dantz, Marilyn Robin, Joel Hawkins, Pete DiRaimondo, Bob Rex, Rich Baehr, Tom McKinney, Connie Hamilton, Ken Applin, John Baer, Pam Conklin, Chuck DiPiazza, and Travis Stevens. Current substitutes are Connie Hamilton and Phil DiPiazza. The band hopes to continue for another 30 years.
